You're formidable drinkers over there: even at just a half of each drink, that's 35 pints.

To be fair, we'll probably only have 30.

I always thought that this was a dickhead free zone but looks like I was wrong.

Does Neil Pillock not realise that these trips are organised by volunteers in their own time. Bus broke down TOUGH you only went for a cheap do. Go back to Wetherspoons and cry!!!

Although Neil might put it in slightly intemperate language, Saturday's fiasco didn't put CAMRA in the best light, especially with the regulars of pubs on the route, many of whom had bought tickets for it in advance.

I set off on the second bus from the Lamb in Eccles, which was only twenty minutes late, and got off at the Union in Salford where a crowd from the first bus was waiting. I then waited myself for the next bus at ten past two. Much as I like the industrial architecture of Salford, by ten to three I'd had enough of it, gave up waiting and walked into town.

More reliable transport or a less ambitious schedule would seem to be the answer, although I wouldn't like to be the person who tries selling tickets to the regulars of pubs on the route next year.

The bus breaking down was most unfortunate this year. I was a victim of it myself and had nothing to do with running it, I might add, so I understand the frustration. It really was just a bad set of circumstances, though.

If you look at our website, northmanchester.camra.org.uk you can read in full our apology and explanation of events, posted there on Sunday 24th. I do know that most people still enjoyed their day, despite the justified annoyance caused by events outside our control. Sorry, we can plan, we can react but we can't control events. Given your obvious enthusiasm for bus trips T, I expect to see you (& Militia) on the RTWB bus in October (especially as I will be going nowhere near IMBC!)
